POND LIFEAlterna-rock-pop-comedy-gospel<= Welcome. Please choose a page. 12th December 2009"Across the Pond"-lifeSo, our lead singer is starting a new life for himself in the US of A, as a rocket scientist for NASA. Fair thee well, Glyn. We will miss you. Posted By Will at 16.14 on Saturday 12/12/09 7th April 2008100 milesBeen a bit slow on the Pondlife front of late (well, since the last post, really) as Glyn and Will are in Surrey / London and the others are in Bristol. However, I believe the band is NOT dead, just... putting its feet up for a bit. Posted By Will at 23.11 on Monday 07/04/08 30th January 2007A snippetWe had a cracking rehearsal in Bristol last weekend - here's a short outtake. It's a song that Ben and Glyn improvised after Ben picked up Glyn's guitar and started playing it... Posted By Will at 21.07 on Monday 30/01/07 27th December 2006An updateAfter a prolonged period of inactivity due to band members moving house (and/or city...) we are now happy to announce that PondLife is, in some senses at least, "back in action". That is to say, we finally managed to get all four of us together in the same place for a rehearsal, sucessfully reheased for a period of hours, started sounding reasonable again, and booked another rehearsal for January. Wohoo! Glyn also reckons we may have a gig with Bristol LiveSoc sometime in the new year - which is rather exciting, if it works out.
We have a few new songs in the pipeline, but unfortunately they're all a bit underdeveloped at the moment. Nevertheless we are working on them as we speak - hopefully we will have produced some new PondLife classics (in the way that only Disney knows how) fairly soon. We also appear to have some e-fans, who have contacted me by MSN... YAY! See our egos inflate. They seem very cool, though. Hopefully we will actually meet these guys at a gig at some stage. To paraphrase Glyn - "The BeetleMan is Back". And it feels good. Both the audience and the acts were trying their best to be energetic amid the rising temperatures and ever-growing sweat patches. Musically, it was fun, and we were able to try out a couple of new songs, and a cover, as well as playing Dobbin Knows live for the first time. Thanks again to all who turned up. Hope you had as good a time as we did! Posted By Will at 01.37 on Sunday 18/06/06 26th May 2006CAFE DELIGHTIt's not until you almost have to play a gig without your frontman and lead singer that you realise how priceless he is... In true Glyn fashion, it wasn't until 15 mins before we were due to play that Mr Collinson turned up last night - to meet an extremely relieved Pond Life crew at this packed-out bohemian Cafe in Bishopston. It was a charity gig in support of the "Keep Bristol North Baths a Community Space" campaign, and the night certainly had a community feel to it. We also had a number of friends turn up to support, which was really nice. Thanks, guys! :) Gig itself was good, although the set up was a bit hectic. We also had a cameo appearance by Mark Gartside, who played a
storming rendition of his turbo charged gastro-ballad, "Midnight Snack". A good night. Yay!

12th May 2006New Website Up!Ok, it's not quite finished. But it's up and working and we think it looks quite pretty. Rest assured the remainder, i.e. message board and reports from our recent gigs, will be up in the... future. In the meantime, please have a look around what parts of the site are currently available - and let us know if anything doesn't work properly. Don't forget to stop by the fun section and play our very own Pond Life game - Gecko Crossing! High scores by email, please... Posted By Will at 13.50 on Friday 12/05/06 Gigs that were
